The data that is collected includes personal details necessary to deliver the requested service, e.g. fulfilment of order, sending communication and dealing with competitions.

We also use third parties to collect data, which we may use for analytics, remarketing and behavioural targeting. These include cookies, web beacons and other storage technologies. For further details see Sections 6 & 7.

2. How is your information used?

We use the data provided by you to fulfil a contract and for legitimate business interests. This includes:

  • To send communications regarding upcoming issues (e.g. our experiment kit list) or other relevant news;
  • When dealing with competition entries;
  • To contact you regarding offers on our products;
  • To seek your feedback and comments.

We manage the purchasing process, as well as the subsequent data management, through third party providers that specialise in secure data management and storage.

Your card information is NOT held by us or the third party database provider, it is collected by our third party payment processors (Stripe and PayPal), who deal with all our credit/debit card payments. They specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions, as explained below.

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity or is required by law.

3. Who has access to your information?

The administration team at Launchpad Publishing has access to your information to fulfil your order and deal with any queries that may arise. Incoming emails to our customer service email address will be answered by any member of the admin team. In certain circumstances emails might be passed on to another member of staff to deal with a specific aspect of the query.

We may pass your information on to our third-party service providers for the purpose of completing your orders; these include our mailing and fulfilment house. However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and comply with the GDPR.

Please be reassured that we will not release your information to third parties unless you have expressly permitted us to.

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties. However, we will release your information if we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.

We will not be liable to you for any losses you may suffer as a result of unauthorised access by a third party to the information (including in particular credit/debit card details) you transmit when you place an order. It is your responsibility to ensure the security of your own credit/debit card details to avoid unauthorised use.
