How computers work

Computers are machines that process information - and they’ve changed the world since they were first developed. They are now at the heart of most modern technologies, from space travel to the internet. This explanation text for year 4 and P5, linking to the topics electricity, describes in detail how a computer works. The labelled diagram explains each part of the computer: hard drive, network card, fans, screen, CPU, power supply, keyboard and mouse.
